With upcoming games in the FA Cup and FA Trophy on the horizon, the Swans need to build some momentum to take them into their forthcoming League games. 

A low key start to game saw a good fifteen minutes before any proper chances were exchanged - Olly Sully was too high from Charlie Mathews' cross while Josh Harman's good effort saw a superb block from Luke Bence before Tom Emblem's header was too high for the hosts. 

Slimbridge dominated the remainder of the period - Casey Collins' long range effort was just off target, and Collin's shot a couple of minutes later saw a goaline clearance deny the striker. 

On 34 minutes, a foul on Sully saw Inkberrow Keeper Brendon Bunn produce a great save from Stokes' free kick on the edge of the box, but then the hosts went down the other end and took the lead - a run and shot from Aiden Clark saw the home side take a lead that was certainly against the run of play at that point six minutes before the Half. 

Theo Lynden's cross converted by Jack Smith was ruled out for offside, before Smith again was off target in stoppage, leaving Inkberrow ahead at the break. 

The second half was a very different one to the first, Slimbridge lost momentum and the teams were evenly matched - Bunn made another good save from Smith early on, while Clark could have done better with his header off target on 49 minutes for the home side. 

The teams continued to exchange chances - Collins was wide on 52 minutes, while Gregor Guy and Josh Hurdman were off target for the hosts, but on 67 minutes the home side doubled their lead - a break saw Clark's effort saved by Callum Godfrey, only for the ball to come to Connor Stanley who buried the rebound. 

As the game drifted towards the close, Inkberrow had a couple of good chances to increase their lead, but Jacob Waterfield fluffed a one on one chance with Godfrey in the last ten minutes, and Kartell Dawkins was off target with four minutes remaining.

The Swans will face Bishops Cleeve in the GFA Challenge Cup at Thornhill Park. This game will kick off at 7.45pm. 

On Saturday the Swans travel to Baffins New Milton in the next round of the FA Cup. The Supporters Coach for that game is now full, and departs Thornhill Park at 9.45am. The game itself will be played at Moneyfields FC due to ground issues at New Milton. 

The Under 18s progressed in the FA Youth Cup last night with a 3-1 victory over Brislington at Thornhill Park. Archie Howard, Luke Sefton and an Own Goal did the damage to progress the Swans into the next round of the competition.
