Slimbridge can have no complaints about the scoreline, as the visitors bossed the game for the vast majority, and thoroughly deserved their victory. 

Slimbridge now need to regroup and go again for their FA Cup tie against Milton Keynes Irish on Saturdays at Thornhill Park. 

For the very early exchanges, it looked as if the teams were evenly matched - Slimbridge had the best of the early opportunities, when Olly Sully and Jack Smith combined well only to see Marine Keeper Joel Halliday push Smith's effort onto the post. 

However, as the visitors settled, they took control of the game in spectacular fashion - Salbin Abubakar, Tyger Hall with a brace, Brad Hooper, and Dan Warre all recorded strikes as the Marine dominated the rest of the first half in a superb attacking display. 

There were two further goals in the first fifteen minutes of the second half from Warre again and then Conor McDonagh, but as Marine relaxed and Slimbridge got back into the game, two goals from Olly Sully in the 64th and 81st minute made the scoreline look slightly better. 

On the pitch it was a very one sided affair. Off the pitch, the contribution of the Marine fans for Teddy Hitchings collection were very abundant and greatly appreciated by everyone involved. Thank you, a lovely gesture from many of the Marine followers.
