Six goals, six different scorers - with five games remaining Slimbridge are beginning to dare to dream of promotion on another day when their rivals again dropped points.

Three goals in each half - From Jack W Smith, Olly Sully, Shiyak Sutherland, an unfortunate own goal, Jack Smith and Toby Soule saw the Swans' lead at the top of the table increase to six points with five games remaining.

Tuesday's showdown with Droitwich Spa, who are now the Swans' only realistic challengers make this probably the most important game the side will play this season. Win it, and four points from their last four games will secure promotion. Incidentally, Slimbridge are also now guaranteed a play off spot after today's triumph.

Three goals in each half did the damage against a Cribbs side, who, to their immense credit fought hard and never gave up.

An early mix up at the back with just four minutes on the clock saw Jack W Smith drill the ball past Cribbs Keeper Aaron Greatbanks, before a superb passing move saw Shiyak Sutherland's cross finding Olly Sully at the far post, and he doubled the advantage on 12 minutes.

Slimbridge had a perfect opportunity to increase the lead on the half hour, when Jacob Rodgers was tripped in the Cribbs box, but Greatbanks not only stopped Sutherland's initial strike, but blocked his follow up as well to keep the deficit down.

Two minutes later though, it was three - Sutherland went on a run down the Slimbridge left and hammered the ball home to make it three.

The second half saw more of the same - Joe Stokes' corner on 56 minutes was scrambled home by Jack Smith to make it four.

On the hour mark, Jack W Smith sent Sutherland away and his cross was turned into his own net by Bleron Thago, although Sully would have converted it anyway had the ball reached him, to record the Swans' fifth.

There were fifteen minutes remaining when Slimbridge got their sixth - Hadyn Evans was fouled on the edge of the Cribbs box, and although Greatbanks made a good stop to Stokes' Free Kick, Toby Soule was on hand to head home the rebound and seal a comprehensive victory.

Cribbs had a chance to pull back a goal when they were awarded a penalty on 79 minutes, but Trayvon Jackson saw his effort come back into play off the Slimbridge bar and be cleared, meaning that both of the penalties awarded in the game by Referee John Mowatt were missed.

Thoughts now turn to Tuesday night. It'll be an interesting evening.
