Slimbridge 2-1 Lydney Town
Tuesday 7th November 2023
Slimbridge progressed to the next stage of the GFA Challenge Cup with a victory at Thornhill Park over Lydney Town. So far, the three matches between the clubs this season have produced a total of eighteen goals.
The goal tally would have been greater had Swans' Keeper Ellis Parker not saved an 11th minute Lydney penalty.
Two goals in the 20th and 25th minutes saw the sides level at the break, the Slimbridge strike coming from Jack Smith.
In the 77th minute George Neill scored what proved to be the winner to send the Swans into the next round, details of which will be announced in due course.
